Product Description

Phase II is a scientifically formulated growing ration suitable for yearlings and broodmares. Phase II is a result of substantial research undertaken to develop the best possible nutritional profile for growing horses prone to developmental orthopedic diseases (DOD). Phase II draws energy largely from digestible fibre sources called “super fibres” and high-quality fat (primarily soy oil with the valuable addition of stabilized flax). In keeping with research showing the benefits of a “low glycemic” diet the starch and sugar levels are appropriate for growing horses. The mineral profile including chelated trace minerals provides highly available bone building minerals to complement an ideal amino acid profile.

Phase II with Flax Appeal provides superior broodmare nutrition necessary to produce healthy active foals and maintain an adequate lactation level to support growth and condition the mare for rebreeding.

Key Benefits:

High quality protein and energy sources provide ideal levels of amino acids to encourage safe growth with an appropriate calorie density for growing yearlings and broodmares during gestation & lactation.

Highly digestible fibre and fat maximize the positive effects of non NSC energy sources while a measured level of soluble carbohydrates help to fully support growth.

The addition of stabilized flax adds greater calorie density and valuable Omega 3 fatty acids.

A well-balanced level of vitamins and chelated minerals encourage sound skeletal growth and help prevent developmental problems related to nutrition. Chelated minerals are more readily and thoroughly absorbed for improved performance and health.

A proprietary form of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae, a prebiotic with a wide body of research improves digestion of fibre and promotes more efficient use of nutrients.

Brooks Oxiguard System of natural source Vitamin E and Selenium are important nutrients for muscle development and strength.

Supplies the daily maintenance requirements for B Vitamins are including biotin.

Directions for Use

Amount of feed required is dependent on the body condition, the metabolism and the rate of growth expected. Proper intake of minerals and vitamins is extremely important for growing horses. Brooks Enhancer or All Phase 20 should be added to the ration when less than the recommended amount is fed. Provide fresh clean water and free choice salt at all times in addition to a minimum of 1% of the horse’s bodyweight in hay or equivalent pasture. Store in a cool dry location. Amount fed varies according to quality of hay. Hay analysis is recommended. Adjust the amount fed according to quantity and quality of pasture while ensuring adequate minerals and vitamins are provided. Consult a Brooks Feed representative or submit a request online using our interactive feeding guide for information. Growth monitoring of growing horses using a tape or scale is recommended.

Cautions

Note: Growing Warmblood and Draft type horses may require different amounts from light horse breeds.
